Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of All-Clad 5112 Stainless 12-Inch Fry PanCustomer Review: Will never use another pan! Summary: 5 Stars
I have always used non-stick cookware. After trying Cook's Illustrated recommended All-Clad Stainless Fry Pan, I will never again use my old pans(expensive Calphalon Contemporary). This pan browns beautifully and has raised my cooking level from really good to GREAT! I have seared a roast, fried bacon, sauted chicken and mushroom marsala & fried veal parmesan so far. My family wants to open a restaurant now! I was worried about clean up, but a short soak helps even the most crusted/browned pan. Bar Keepers Friend restores the pan to brand new condition. I plan to slowly replace all of my non-stick with stainless.
Customer Review: you really can't beat it Summary: 5 Stars
Nothing tops All-Clad cookware. It looks fantastic and it performs like no other. I prefer the stainless line because it's dishwasher safe and because I like the neat polished exterior. Looks great hanging on a rack glistening in the sunlight. Be sure to pick up some "Bar Keepers Friend" cleanser because thats one of the few products will take off minor stains. This 12-inch frypan is great for a large stir-fry, a pound of bacon, just about anything BIG that won't in a 10-inch.
Customer Review: Part of a Set Summary: 5 Stars
I don't use this pan often (it was part of a set and I usually cook for one.) However, when I do, it lives up to the All Clad reputation. It is very spacious -- perfect if you're cooking family meals.
It heats beautifully. I've never had to turn the stove top above medium and that's to sear.
Clean up is easy because it's dishwasher safe. Barkeeper's Friend keeps it shiny. I use Dawn Power Dissolve if I have any of that sticky oil residue on the inside.
Customer Review: Nothing better Summary: 5 Stars
I can't say enough great things about All Clad! It is by far the BEST! It makes me want to cook and trust me, that is saying alot..LOL! Even boiling water is a joy now =)
Over the last couple years we've been able to clear out all of our old crappy pots and pans and replace them w/ All Clad. We have several pcs that we use all the time.
A really great investment!
Customer Review: Do you like to waste money? Summary: 2 Stars
Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 12-Inch Omelet Pan is just as good, However, it is not rated no. 1 by Martha or America's Test Kitchen. I spent $75 on the Calphalon and it is the best pan I've ever enjoyed. My sister in law has the All-Clad, she regrets spending too much after trying mine. I don't put it through the dishwasher, and eggs don't stick if you cook on med.-low.
