Customer Review: Not what I hoped.

This is was the first press I've bought. I only drink one cup of coffee so I thought why not drink out of what I make it in....less clean up. Well, while it's a sturdy little mug for sure, I've moved on. First I like milk in my coffee. I had to add this before the hot water because pulling up the lid after the plunger was already on was impossible to do without getting a lot of grounds in the drink. However by adding the milk before hand, I felt this compromised the temperature of the hot water and it's ability to brew out the flavor.
Secondly, even without adding the milk, I still had a lot of grounds. And this was with coarsely ground beans.
I went and bought a small stainless steal 3 cup press and that works much better now. I don't have any more large grounds in my coffee and it's cleaner. I brew my coffee in it, pour into a mug and clean up is a breeze since I'm not adding milk and drinkin out of the press. And with my new press, there aren't any grounds, so it was the mug and not the coffee.
I even traveled with my other press.
So for the money, this one's not that bad, but I would recommend paying more and getting something else.
Description of Aerolatte To Go Mug French Press
The Aerolatte Travel coffee press performs several functions at the same time. First, it brews coffee with a simple plunger action like a French press. Secondly, it has a tight-fitting lid with a no-spill drinking aperture for taking coffee on the road. Lastly, its insulated walls act like a thermos to keep coffee hot. (Incidentally, this last function addresses a common complaint about French press pots, which are usually made of glass and do not conserve heat well.) This is a great small gift for an avid coffee drinker.The Aerolatte Travel coffee press is made from brushed stainless steel with a sturdy foot, lid, and handle. Its double-thick walls are insulated to keep coffee hot with a swiveling lid cover that opens for sipping and also helps conserve heat. A rubber seal around the edge of the plunger screen keeps sediment out of coffee. When not in use, the plunger handle lies almost flush to the lid.
The press's plunger unscrews from the lid for easy cleaning. Plunger, lid, and mug are all safe for the dishwasher. The 12-ounce coffee press stands 5 inches tall and has a 3-1/4-inch diameter (5 inches including the handle). The no-spill lid is not watertight and will leak if turned upside down, so exercise caution with hot beverages. An instruction sheet for using the coffee press is included. --Garland Withers
