Customer Review: Very nice item that is well worth the cost.
Summary: 5 Stars

The only problem with this unit is that it does not clean itself. You still have to wipe the water spots off of the mirror. What is nice is the way the mirror becomes a part of the shower, it is a true hands free mirror. Also what is nice is there is a valve to shut off the water to the shower heard to save money and to save hot water. A added bonus as far as I am concerned. As far as the fog free part. That is ok, I can spray water on the mirror to clean it off if it is fogged up. For me the advantage is having a place for this mirror to attach itself in a secure way so that I do not have to worry about it falling down and having to pick it back up again. I suppose that if you did not splash water on the mirror and got the fog free feature to work, then there would be no water spots to worry about having to clean up after your shower. I wonder if they ever thought about putting a chrome or a gold plate on these units. I suppose anyone with the right equipment could do that though. My hand held shower is a chrome plated plastic unit.

Customer Review: Excellent Product !!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got on Amazon today looking for this specific product and am disappointed to see it is currently unavailable.

I am looking because the one I purchased in 1990 finally failed on me this morning. The flexible extension broke from years of manuevering it up and down in the shower. It is still working, but now it is hanging from a thin rubber tube and I think it is probably best to replace it before the tube breaks.

It is simple to install, it screws on to the pipe your shower head is now hooked up to and then the shower head attaches to the unit. Water runs though it to keep it fog free. You adjust the volume of water the first time you use it and then never again so you really shouldn't have any problems with the control "breaking off".

In my view, any product that sells in the $20.00 range and lasts 15 plus years and does exactly what it is advertized to do for all of that time deserves an excellent rating. I will find it somewhere else and buy it, again.

Customer Review: Looked all over for this
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one of these for my husband years ago and he loved it. After five years and two moves it finally went caput. We looked all over for a new one and couldn't find it so we got him one of those "fogless" stick on mirrors, what a joke it never worked. Finally after a year of him complaining I found this online which is I believe the same one we got him last time. Yes it is plastic but I don't think its cheaply constructed. You need to get a roll of plumbers tape as you will need more than the tiny bit it comes with. If you install it right it will not leak. Now how it works is the little bit of water (you control the flow using the lever which you must be careful with it can pop out) flows through the back of the mirror and out the bottom, my husband like this because he uses it to get the shaving cream off his razor as he shaves. I think the cable is long enough. My husband is around 5'10" and he has no problem. If this one lasts as long as the last one it will be money well spent!

Customer Review: finally, a fog-free mirror that works!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been through a number of regular fog-free mirrors. While they all start out just fine, they usually 'wear out' in time, losing their special coating, and are hard to maintain and clean properly.

The ShowerTek is such a simple idea, using hot water behind the mirror surface to keep it from fogging - and it works exactly as planned: I don't think I could ask for anything more really!

** EDIT: 2 years later, and finally my ShowerTek has bitten the dust. It's not so much that the mirror stopped fogging up, but more that the durability of the plastic articulated arm and valves with all the hard water in our area has finally seen the valves leaking and the tubular arm getting very stiff and eventually breaking. Oh well, 2 years of solid use in a very harsh continual water climate isn't really too bad for less than $20. **

Customer Review: I LOVE this thing!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had one of these things for many years, and have really come to love it - and, when I'm away from home I really MISS it! It really helps speed up the morning experience, doesn't leave a mess in the sink, and most of all, it works GREAT! The only reason why I had to replace it recently was that I had to remove and replace it as I'd installed a new shower fixture, I overtightened the ShowerTek and fractured it - my fault. It doesn't look very fancy and I once tried out ShowerTek's fancier-looking chrome one, but it doesn't work worth a crap! It doesn't use the same concept of running hot water through the mirror and out a drain hole and works about as well as the mirrors that have a so-called fog-free coating on them - they typically stay fog-free for about one day. I should stock up on these things before they get too scarce!
