Although the Unicorn Magnum Plus Pepper Mill leaves a bit to be desired as far as look, it truly is an amazing thing. The amount of pepper that is revealed after each grind, the ease of that grind, and the shear amount of pepper that this beast holds is outstanding. Although I still wish it looked like that little glossy red Peugeot that I wanted so badly, the performance is worth the look. The Peugeot that I tried in a fancy cooking store would never live up to this type of performance. I would suggest you suck it up and order this guy. I own six pepper mills and have used numerous others over the years. I have never used another mill that comes close to this one in performance.
As another reviewer noted the fill door is easy to accidentally open in use but I got used to it quickly. The grinding knob is large enough to avoid the door easily, I have just always been a bit sloppier with my grip than I am now.
This grinder produces a huge volume of pepper with minimal effort and is easily adjustable from near dust to course and chunky.
I love it!

You know, you never know what's going to make a difference in your life. Even a pepper grinder. What I love aboout this one: it holds a LOT, it's VERY easy to refill (no more chasing peppercorns all over the counter), and it grinds so fast, so well. You know how some recipes call for a teaspoon of "freshly ground black papper"? Who has time to do that with a normal grinder? With this one, do it over a bowl, and you have it in less than a minute. Looks nice too. I know it's a small thing in this world today, but it's something. :)Customer Review: Great pepper grinder

While shopping with a friend, we looked at pepper grinders and she showed me which one she owns and told me she had purchased hers from Amazon.com and how much she liked it. I purchased mine from Amazon.com for $20 less than retail stores and it works great. I get the amount of pepper I want on my food with a minimum of effort. I also would like to thank Alton Brown for recommending this particular grinder on his show. The grinder holds quite a lot of peppercorns so you don't have to fill it all the time. The good: Excellent mechanism, good shower of pepper, good adjustment.
The bad: 1. Like many pepper grinders it is hard to fill without peppercorns going everywhere. 2. That shiny plastic finish can be slippery, and with oily hands it really gets inconvenient. I'd give up a little style for a little more traction. 3. The turning motion for grinding pepper also tends to open the peppercorn opening, which can lead to a peppercorn landslide.
Even so, a good pepper grinder; perfection remains elusive
