The is the easiest pepper grinder to Unfill I have ever set my hands on!! While it is easy to fill and has a great grind, all the good points are nullified when dining area cleanup is required after a user can easily open the filling port during use. The fill port opens in THE SAME TWIST DIRECTION AS GRINDING and is located where fingertips will overlap the grind wheel and just touch the rotating fill port cover. If the next user does not keep the grinder vertical when passing or using, pepper corns will spill and roll in a most inconvenient manner at the worst possible time. I would send the designer to a hell of picking up peppercorns for eternity!Customer Review: Cranks out the pepper

I don't have much more to add that the other favorable reviews have discussed.
This is a highly functional device, that really cranks out the pepper. I've owned 5 or 6 pepper mills and this is by far the best one. The other ones ground a lot less pepper, always had something that drove me nuts (like a grind that changed as the mill was cranked).
The only downside is the opening that will open eventually. I placed black tape on this and remove when I need to refill, which is about every two weeks.
Time will tell if this lasts as I've only had it about six months- it appears to be built to last.

This is one very good pepper mill! I've used one on a daily basis for over 5 years and it still works like a charm. It holds a "lot" of peppercorns, has a great grind adjustment, and really outputs the ground pepper. The downside is that it is quite large (9" tall) and is rather difficult to fill without spilling peppercorns all over the place (remedy this by using a small funnel to fill it). On the other hand... it holds so much pepper that you don't have to fill it very often. The only other pepper mill that I could recommend without hesitation is the "Perfex" 4-inch Cast Aluminum Pepper Mill. Buy one of each!Customer Review: AWESOME AWESOME PEPPER MILL

This is the best Pepper Mill I have ever used. It is at a reasonable price. More expensive mills can't even come close to the value of this mill. I am having so much fun making recipes that I can use fresh ground pepper in just to use this mill. I wonder if fresh ground pepper would be good in homemade banana pudding? Just kidding. This pepper mill's cosmetic appearance should be able to go with any decor. I mean come on think basic black. And pepper is what color? black? The mill has a modern look. Hands down, the best pepper mill in existence. I've tried them all, having bought well over a dozen in the last 15 years. They ranged from never quite right to downright pitiful. The second I got my hands on this pepper mill, my search ended for good. I will never buy another pepper mill (unless this one somehow breaks and I need a new one). With a quarter turn, you get more pepper than most mills put out in several cranks. you can have it ground anywhere from fine to cracked and the mill holds a LOT of peppercorns.
Worth every cent and then some.
