I bought this pepper mill on Alton Brown's recommendation, and it's fantastic. I can't sing its praises better than the other reviewers have (it has a tremendous capacity and crushes A LOT of pepper with each easy turn), so I'll focus on the two very minor quibbles that I have with the product. First, you fill the pepper through a large hole on the side/top of the mill. A little door slides this hole shut, but it's easy to inadvertently open the hole while grinding the pepper. Like another reviewer, I have had a pepper spill with this model. Additionally, if you look at the picture, what you see is what you get: this pepper mill is a big, shiny, black, plastic cylinder. I have had several peppermills over the years and I bought this one from amazon in 2005 after Alton Brown praised it. I use mine everyday and we love pepper so it gets a workout. This is well worth the money and with customer service like theirs -- BUY IT!
I am experiencing grinding issues that it won't grind finer. I called the company and explained the problem. Their customer service is outstanding and they are replacing the grinding mechanism at no cost, after 6 years! I can't tell you how much I appreciate this company standing behind their products and how well I was treated. They show you that they care about their customers, and we all know how rare this is now. THANK YOU UNICORN!!!

I love the Magnum Plus, but I think I might have bought the smaller Magnum if I had really paid attention. The Magnum has a tray that catches pepper dust and the Magnum Plus does not. I hate having to constantly wipe off the table or counter from the residual pepper grind. In addition, if you want a salt mill to match, you will need to get the Magnum as the Magnum Plus does not have a salt grinder that size. Neither pepper mills are that beautiful for you table, but the smaller Magnum will be less obtrusive if you do put in on your dining table. The Magnum may not fit in your hand as quite as easily - just something you need to think about. Both pepper mills hold quite a bit of peppercorns.Customer Review: This mill is great in many ways

I don't agree with the reviews that almost scared me off about the fill hole being badly designed where it might open accidentally. Maybe the first time you use it this could happen, but it is easy to avoid doing it again.
This mill is already wonderful and I just received it. I had returned a Puegot because the filling was a pain in the rear. My larger peppercorns would not fit and kept getting stuck. This one fills so easily and holds a large amount. The production in each turn is fantastic. The control of the coarseness of the grind is great. I am so excited that I feel like I have found the best pepper mill of my life! I want to go pepper everything.

Numerous authorities on cooking have rated this their favorite pepper mill, and while it may be the best mill out there, it is not flawless. It does, however, hold a huge quantity of pepper and grid it very quickly. Unfortunately, not only is it a bit ugly, but I find that I sometimes accidentally open the fill area while grinding, occasionally resulting in a peppercorn explosion when I invert the mill! Mostly just carelessness on my part, but I do wish it was a little *more* difficult to add more pepper!

Cons:
1) Prone to accidental opening
2) Not particularly attractive
