Customer Review: How good can a little booklight get? This one's pretty good.

I bought this light (from, erm, Walmart $12) for my wife. No complaints from her, which means (to me) that it does its job with minimal fuss.
The supplied batteries lasted a long time, but now that it's time to replace them (nearly 8 months later), I haven't been able to find them at Walmart (but I didn't ask for assistance either).
It won't clip over the cover of a hardbound --it seems like it would break-- but a few pages will keep it steady.
The dim mode (press the button twice) doesn't make a big difference and anyway, the bright mode is not intrusive at all while illuminating the page well enough. It won't light both sides at the same time very well, however, but if you angle it just right, you might find it adequate. If you find it troublesome finding the right number of pages to clip it on, you can clip it on your shirt collar instead! The body of the device will keep the whole thing in position and you can still maneuver the arm for fine positioning.
This is also great for lighting anything you'd do in front of you, like threading a needle or cutting the nails of your sleeping baby! It'll stand on the table as well, which has been helpful occasionally (when you don't want full illumination of the room).
Given its reasonable price and able performance, I recommend it.
Also, I've read reviews on the flexible-neck types of booklights, and I don't like the shaking of the light that's being reported. I've also read that the flex-neck has failed (broken!) for some. I won't even consider such lights.
