Finding the perfect tobacco grinder is always a hard thing to do. Sorry to inform you but this is not your perfect tobacco grinder, but it is definitely worth $20.00 to get the job done. I bought this Tobacco grinder for a friend, and when I opened it to look the product over I learned that the compartment that holds the tobacco is rather small and short. Then again, if I remember correctly the grinder does grind your tobacco rather finely. It all depends on what kind of tobacco you have and how the tobacco was cured in my opinion. I'd say the storage is good for maybe 3 bowls in your favorite average sized tobacco pipe. Again, I bought this product for a friend so I'm not sure how the pollen accumulates. I'm wishy-washy about the two screen filtering method for catching tobacco pollen. It just seems with two screens you will collect Pollen more slowly but obtain a more pure product. Also, when grinding it can be a not so smooth process with this grinder. I personally own a Sharpstone grinder that Amazon does not carry. I purchased it at a local headshop for triple the price of the chromium crusher and it has 1 screen with a translucent top. It stores a good amount and obtains pollen at a good rate, again depends on the tobacco product. Like many of the other reviewers, I thought that for the price, I was going to be getting something kind of cheap and not well made.. I was definitely wrong about that! This is a great grinder that helps to prepare medicinal herbal medicine into a form that an be vaporized or smoked. The grinder is solid, feels heavy in your hands and comes with a nice velvet storage bag. There are different levels to catch herb at different densities. There is also a kief catcher for pollen at the very bottom of the unit.
The chopping blades are strong and sharp. I do not expect to wear them out any time soon. They did very well working through medicine with different kinds of plant material. The crusher turns easily and screws together nicely. The outer surface can be easily cleaned with soap and water or an alcohol pad. I have not tried cleaning any of the inside surfaces and would probably avoid it because of the pollen screen. I am not sure how the screen would hold up to cleaning. The top with the blades could definitely take soap and water or an alcohol pad as well.
The metal surface is gorgeous, expect to get fingerprints on it. Cleaning it is easy though.
Great quality, great price and very functional. What more could one want?

This thing is excellent, yet people are crying about it? I do not understand...
The reality of the matter is:
Extremely sturdy construction, nice and SOLID with a bit of weight to it. I don't know about anyone else but when I buy metal stuff, I want some weight. I don't know why this matters to me... Regardless, it's solid.
It grinds perfectly, no "big chunks" left behind as one user commented. Not sure if they're doing it wrong or what but I have not had a single problem with the grind quality.
As for the room this thing contains -- another complaint by more than one user -- how much room do you need? I mean, unless you are lung cancer waiting to happen, there is plenty of room for the grinder to pack one, maybe two fairly large pipes in a single grind. Don't be lazy and do a second grind if you have to. Who stashes their herb in their grinder, anyhow?
Anyway, great product, I love it, looks sweet, and you can get the crusher in different colors! Not through this product thread, but others! Go look! I wish I had gotten a red one, but this one is awesome, too.

I bought a powdercoated black version of this grinder from 7th Floor (makers of the Silver Surfer).
Good:
-Looks stylish
-Grounds herbs
-Nice having an extra compartment where the finest ground bits are kept
-Compact
Bad:
-Very bottom compartment (below filter) gets fine powder inside the grooves that hold those two pieces together - makes it hard to reseal
-Middle section (between filter and grinder assembly) is hard to get back on - you have to fiddle with it for a bit before you can screw it in
-Grinding assembly tends to make a nails-on-chalkboard type sound when you put the very top lid on and don't have it lined up perfectly
Overall a good grinder, but I would look for something with wider screw channels for keeping the various pieces together, and possibly a guide (maybe a peg that sticks up in the middle) to make it easier to put the top lid on when it's full of material.

The grinder itself feels very smooth, grinds nicely, but with a bit of a loose cap (strong magnet though), and is overall a quality product, but the grinder that I received in the mail was different than the picture provided.
The grinder I received had 5 pieces and 4 chambers, as opposed to the pictured 4 piece/3 chamber grinder as was pictured.
The result of this was that the extra chamber took up room that should have been more storage area for the ground herbs.
There is very minimal room for the herb to be stored in the grinder (only a 1/2cm layer of herb can be stored at one time), there are two identical storage areas so i get around this by grinding some herbs into one layer, then grinding more into the other layer to save for later.
I would have preferred one larger storage layer, but it's a quality tobacco/herb grinder and I am otherwise satisfied with the product, plus $20 is a very good price for the grinder.
