I got turned onto this type of coffee maker in Germany last fall. For the last 40 years or so I have taken my coffee with milk (or cream) and sugar. With this type of coffee maker and foamed milk (see Bialetti milk frother) I no longer put sugar in my coffee. On the negative side, "normal" drip-type or percolated coffee is no longer appealing. You will need espresso-type coffee, you can get some here at Amazon at a great price. I like Lavazza Crema e Gusto, but your mileage may vary.
